Basics

Defending the Nation's borders and interests and feeding the population are two of the most ancient professions. The 21st century sophistication of both presents opportunities and challenges.
DELTA's ambition is to operate in collaborative mode to achieve:
  • Successful training of the UK and its allies' armed forces.
  • Preservation and enhancement of the rare and unique environment on this ancient landscape.
  • Maintaining a secure and profitable farming opportunity for Members.  

Protecting Tenants and Licensees rights

Standing together presents a more respected and stronger body than farmers operating alone. We do assist with individual Member's rent negotiations but also with: 
  • SPTA wide issues like whether or not SPTA licensees are entitled to claim certain support schemes. 
  • Tenancy inheritance.
  • Property repairs.
  • Military damage.

Plain Conservation

The grouping of farmers brought about by DELTA offered an opportunity to benefit from government support for education and project funding. Plain Conservation was set up as an environment wing of DELTA. It is open to DELTA Members and their families and staff making sense of sometimes complex ecosystems on SPTA.
Organised by agricultural environmental consultant, Jemma Batten, Plain Conservation has seen walks, expert talks and workshops from butterflies to bat boxes.
